Description :

Monumental and exceptionally rare Frederick Hart (1943–1999) bronze sculpture titled “Daughters of Odessa: Sisters”, part of the celebrated Daughters of Odessa Trilogy created in 1997. This museum-caliber work depicts three graceful female figures emerging in flowing motion, a hallmark of Hart’s masterful figurative style and spiritual approach to sculpture.

Cast in bronze with richly nuanced green and warm bronze patination, the sculpture captures extraordinary movement through wind-swept drapery, expressive faces, and fluid composition. The figures appear to rotate around one another, creating a dynamic visual experience from every angle.

Frederick Hart is internationally recognized as one of America’s most important modern figurative sculptors, best known for Ex Nihilo at Washington National Cathedral and The Three Soldiers at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. His large-scale bronze works are highly sought after by major collectors, galleries, institutions, and luxury estates.

“Daughters of Odessa: Sisters” was produced as a limited-edition bronze and is considered one of Hart’s most iconic late-career creations. Comparable examples of the life-size and Artist Proof editions have been offered through major galleries and fine art brokers with retail valuations reaching six figures.

Condition:
Excellent display condition with attractive original patina. No major structural damage observed. Presents beautifully with strong detail throughout the figures, faces, and drapery. Extremely heavy solid bronze construction. Professional inspection recommended for authentication, edition verification, and insurance purposes.

Measurements Approx:
• Height: approximately 51"
• Width: approximately 32"
• Depth: approximately 28"
• Material: Solid cast bronze with patinated finish
• Base: Heavy circular display base

Historical Note:
Frederick Hart was one of the foremost American sculptors of the late twentieth century and helped revive interest in figurative realism during an era dominated by abstraction. His Daughters of Odessa series represents themes of beauty, femininity, movement, and transcendence. Limited-edition examples of “Daughters of Odessa: Sisters” have been documented as Artist Proof bronzes from editions of 60 and have been represented by major galleries specializing in investment-grade sculpture.
