Beautiful vintage lot featuring a genuine iridescent abalone shell dish paired with a matching set of New Zealand paua shell salt and pepper shakers. The natural nacre displays stunning flashes of blue, green, purple, and silver, making this an eye-catching decorative set for a coastal, bohemian, or mid-century décor.

The abalone shell can be used as a jewelry dish, smudging bowl, catchall, or display piece, while the matching paua shell shakers add a unique natural accent to a dining table or collection.

HISTORICAL NOTE
Abalone and New Zealand paua shells have long been prized for their brilliant iridescence. During the mid-20th century, handcrafted paua shell souvenirs—including salt and pepper shakers, jewelry, and decorative objects—became popular exports from New Zealand. Genuine abalone shells continue to be valued both as decorative pieces and for ceremonial uses such as incense and smudging.

EST. VALUE
$40–70
