Description :

Authentic vintage Japanese kimono robe crafted from 100% silk and labeled Made in Japan. This traditional robe features a rich navy blue ground with an all-over geometric kasuri (ikat-style) woven pattern, complemented by a contrasting sage green silk lining. The classic straight-cut silhouette with wide sleeves reflects the understated elegance of traditional Japanese textile craftsmanship.

Beautiful as wearable vintage fashion, ceremonial attire, home décor, display, or for textile collectors.

Measurements Approx:

  • Length: Approx. 54–56 in.
  • Shoulder width: Approx. 24 in.
  • Sleeve length: Approx. 12–13 in.
  • Sleeve opening: Approx. 18–20 in.

Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. The silk retains its attractive color and woven pattern. There is a visible seam separation/tear to the lining (shown in photos) along with expected age-related wear, light wrinkling, and loose threads consistent with a vintage textile. The original 100% Silk / Made in Japan label remains attached. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.

Historical Note/Fun Fact:
Kasuri (絣) is a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing and weaving technique similar to ikat, producing softly blurred geometric patterns. Indigo kasuri silk kimonos became especially popular during the late Meiji, Taishō, and Shōwa periods. Vintage silk kimonos like this are increasingly sought after for their handcrafted textiles and are often repurposed into jackets, dresses, and art pieces while remaining collectible in their original form.

Estimated Value:
75–150
