Description :
Beautiful vintage pink majolica-style pottery tea service consisting of ten matching pieces with richly molded high-relief figural decoration. This charming set includes a teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl with lid, covered compote, creamer, and four handled cups. Each piece features romantic pastoral and cherub-inspired scenes in a cranberry pink wash over cream-colored pottery. Several pieces are hand-inscribed and dated on the underside (1967, 1968, and 1970), suggesting they were handcrafted or studio decorated over several years as a coordinated collection. A wonderful decorative display set or addition to a majolica, Victorian revival, or art pottery collection. Approximate Measurements: Condition: Historical Note: Estimated Value:
Very good vintage condition overall. No obvious major chips or cracks observed in the photographs. Light crazing, glaze variation, and minor surface wear consistent with handmade pottery and age. Several bases are hand-signed and dated by the maker. Please review all photographs carefully for complete condition details.
Relief-decorated majolica revival pottery experienced renewed popularity during the mid-20th century, with many studio potters creating hand-finished pieces inspired by 19th-century English and French majolica. Hand-dated examples like this suggest an individual artisan or hobby ceramicist assembled the service over time, making it a unique decorative set rather than a factory-produced service.
