Description :
Striking vintage decorative ensemble featuring a faux Corinthian column pedestal with distressed verdigris finish, a pair of solid brass duck bookends, and a hand-hammered brass kettle or cachepot with swing handle. The pedestal provides an elegant architectural display stand, while the sculptural brass ducks and petite vessel create a timeless Mid-Century to Hollywood Regency aesthetic. Ideal as an entryway, library, or living room accent. Approx. Measurements: Condition: Historical Note: Est. Value:
Pedestal approximately 28–32" H x 10–12" square top; duck bookends approximately 6–8" H each; brass pot approximately 3–5" Dia. x 3–5" H
Very good vintage condition. Pedestal has intentional distressed finish with minor age-related wear. Brass pieces display an attractive natural patina with light surface wear consistent with age. No major chips, cracks, or structural issues observed.
Architectural pedestals inspired by classical Greek and Roman columns became popular home décor pieces during the late 20th century, particularly alongside Hollywood Regency and traditional interiors. Solid brass animal-form bookends and decorative brass vessels were widely collected from the 1960s through the 1980s, prized for their craftsmanship and enduring appeal.
