Description :
Distinctive vintage Tell City Furniture solid wood accent chair featuring an exceptionally tall spindle back with three horizontal crossbars, turned finials, shaped solid wood seat, and splayed legs. The dramatic elongated silhouette gives the chair an almost sculptural quality while retaining Tell City’s classic American craftsmanship. A particularly unusual form well suited as a statement chair, decorative accent, or addition to a Tell City furniture collection. Approx. Measurements: 44–50" H x 14–17" W x 15–18" D; seat approximately 15–18" H. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, finish variation, small marks, and patina. Appears well preserved overall. Please review photos for exact condition. Historical Note: Tell City Chair Company was established in Tell City, Indiana in 1865 and became known for quality American-made hardwood furniture. Its 20th-century designs frequently drew upon Early American and traditional forms, with solid wood construction and distinctive turned details. This unusually tall-backed design is a particularly eye-catching example of the company's decorative seating. Est. Value:
