Description :

Dramatic vintage Syroco wall mirror with an elegant black and antiqued-gold Neoclassical design strongly reminiscent of the celebrated La Barge decorator mirrors of the period. The architectural frame features a tall arched crest crowned by sculptural acanthus foliage, floral rosettes, raised gilt borders, and graceful swag-and-tassel ornamentation. The black ground against the warm gold detailing gives the mirror a particularly sophisticated Hollywood Regency look. Back is clearly marked “SYROCO MADE IN USA 2081.” A substantial statement mirror with excellent decorative presence.

Approx. Measurements: 40–50" H x 22–30" W

Condition: Good vintage condition with expected age-related surface wear, small scuffs, finish variation and patina to the black and gold decoration. Mirror glass appears intact. Backing and hanging hardware are present. Please review photos for exact condition.

Historical Note: Syracuse Ornamental Company, better known as Syroco, was founded in Syracuse, New York in 1890 and became an important American producer of molded decorative furnishings. During the mid-20th century, Syroco produced elaborate mirrors and wall décor inspired by French, Neoclassical and Regency designs. This model’s black-and-gold palette, swag decoration and elaborate crest closely capture the high-style La Barge/Hollywood Regency aesthetic prized in decorator interiors.

Est. Value: 250-450
