Description :

Handsome vintage Cram’s Imperial World Globe presented on an elegant freestanding wood pedestal. The globe features classic cream-toned cartography with blue-green geographical coloring, mounted within a graduated meridian ring and substantial circular wood horizon frame. The turned wood column terminates in a graceful three-foot Queen Anne-style base, giving the piece the presence of traditional library or study furniture rather than a simple desktop globe. Both decorative and educational, this is a wonderful statement piece for a library, office, den, or collected interior.

Approx. Measurements: 38–44" H x 18–22" W; globe approximately 12–16" diameter

Condition: Good vintage condition with expected age-related wear. Globe surface shows toning, scattered marks, discoloration and wear consistent with age and use. Wood stand has minor scratches, finish wear and variations. Globe and meridian appear intact in photos. Please review all images for exact condition.

Historical Note: Cram’s globes were produced by the George F. Cram Company, one of America’s prominent map and globe publishers. Freestanding library globes became especially popular as both educational objects and sophisticated home furnishings during the mid-20th century. The political boundaries and place names printed on vintage globes can also provide clues for more precisely dating their manufacture.

Est. Value: 175-300
