Description :

Extensive mixed collection of polished gemstones, natural mineral specimens, agates, crystals, and decorative stones in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.

This impressive assortment includes what appear to be banded agates, jasper, quartz, amethyst, chalcedony, and other assorted mineral varieties. Highlights include a beautiful large sliced agate specimen displaying intricate blue-gray, cream, and brown banding; several striking lace-patterned agates; colorful polished and tumbled stones; and an unusual large porous natural rock specimen.

The collection also features a wooden display case containing numerous individually arranged polished cabochons and decorative stones, a substantial quantity of purple amethyst chips, mixed gemstone chips, small collectible specimens, and assorted larger rough and polished rocks.

Several pieces display beautiful natural formations, translucent qualities, intricate banding, and distinctive mineral patterns.

An excellent collection for rockhounds, lapidary enthusiasts, jewelry makers, crystal collectors, and anyone interested in geology or natural decorative objects.

Entire collection sold together, including the assorted containers and display case pictured. Exact quantity and individual mineral identifications have not been verified.

Sold as-is, where-is.

Historical Note

Agates, jasper, quartz, and other decorative minerals have been collected and treasured for centuries for their natural patterns and geological significance. Banded agates are particularly admired for their layered formations, which develop as silica-rich minerals accumulate within cavities in volcanic and other rocks.

Collections such as this reflect the longstanding popularity of rockhounding, lapidary arts, and mineral collecting. Polished cabochons and tumbled stones are commonly used in jewelry making, decorative displays, and educational geological collections.
