Hazel Atlas Checkerboard Uranium Glass Ashtray with Matchbook Holder Authentic vintage Hazel Atlas “Checkerboard” pattern ashtray crafted in vibrant green uranium (Vaseline) glass, produced in the 1930s. This classic Depression-era piece features a molded checkerboard pattern on the underside and a built-in center matchbook holder, along with four geometric cigarette rests along the rim. Under UV light, the glass fluoresces with a brilliant neon green glow, making it equally desirable for both smoking memorabilia collectors and uranium glass enthusiasts. Measurements: Approximately 5.5–5.75” diameter, 1–2” tall Condition: Very good vintage condition. No visible cracks noted. Light surface wear consistent with age and prior use. Historical Note: Hazel Atlas Glass Company was one of the leading American glass manufacturers during the Depression era. The “Checkerboard” pattern is a recognized 1930s design and remains highly collectible, especially in uranium glass variations due to their signature blacklight glow. Value: $95
