Description :

Elegant antique freestanding towel or clothes rail crafted in warm-toned wood, likely walnut, with turned uprights, multiple horizontal hanging rails and decorative tripod-style feet. The upper rails provide additional hanging space, while the turned details and gracefully shaped bases give the piece a distinctly Victorian-era appearance. Wonderful for displaying antique linens, quilts, towels or clothing.

Approx. Measurements
Approx. 28–34" W x 12–16" D x 34–40" H

Condition
Good antique condition with visible surface wear, scratches, finish loss and age-related patina throughout. Wear to the horizontal rails is visible and consistent with substantial age and use. Appears structurally intact from photos.

Historical Note
Freestanding towel and clothes rails were common bedroom and dressing-room furnishings during the Victorian period. Similar multi-rail examples are generally attributed to the mid-to-late 19th century and were designed to hold towels, garments and linens before modern built-in storage became commonplace.
