Description :
Beautiful vintage woven rattan table lamp with a sculptural urn-shaped silhouette and tightly woven diagonal basketry. The form closely resembles French “Briet Breveté” rattan lamps seen on the vintage design market. This example includes a custom-looking botanical shade featuring richly layered autumn leaves in warm rust, amber, green and burgundy tones with decorative trim. A striking bohemian, organic modern or coastal accent lamp. Approx. Measurements Condition Historical Note
Approx. 25–30 in. tall with shade
Lamp body approx. 15–19 in. tall
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear to the woven rattan and base. Weaving appears remarkably intact in the photographs. Shade shows some age and irregularities consistent with its handcrafted appearance. Electrical cord and socket are present; working condition should be confirmed before sale.
Woven rattan and wicker lamps became especially fashionable in European and American interiors during the mid-to-late 20th century. Comparable French examples attributed to Briet Breveté are now offered through high-end vintage design dealers, while similar pairs of vintage woven jute/rattan lamps can carry asking prices exceeding $1,000.
