Description :
Collection of six vintage Southwestern pottery vessels featuring hand-painted geometric, floral, landscape and traditional Native American-inspired designs. Several pieces have handwritten identification on the bases, including “Arizona June 1973,” “SC Jemez,” and other artist or owner notations. The assortment includes small vases, handled wedding-vase-style forms, a round canteen-style vessel and a small Monument Valley-style landscape pot. An attractive mixed collection with each piece displaying its own individual form and decoration. Approx. Measurements Condition Historical Note Estimated Value
Approximately 3–7 in. tall x 3–6 in. wide.
Vintage pre-owned condition with expected surface wear, rubbing, discoloration and minor imperfections from age and handling. Some pieces retain old price labels and handwritten markings on the undersides. No major damage is immediately apparent in the photographs; please review all photos closely for individual condition.
Southwestern pottery has a long tradition among Pueblo communities throughout New Mexico and Arizona. The “Jemez” marking on one piece suggests an association with Jemez Pueblo pottery, while another is dated Arizona, June 1973. Because the pieces carry differing markings and decorative styles, this appears to be a collection assembled from multiple makers rather than a matched set.
