Description :

Vintage Berger Patent Art Deco Table Lamp — Brass Lantern Base with Fiberglass Shade

This rare vintage Art Deco table lamp is attributed to Berger and features a distinctive lantern-style brass base with a geometric, pyramid-textured surface emblematic of early 20th-century decorative lighting. The lamp is paired with a period fiberglass shade trimmed in brass, creating a warm, softly diffused glow when illuminated.

The sculptural base showcases repeating raised triangular motifs, a hallmark of Art Deco design that emphasizes symmetry, texture, and architectural form. Its compact proportions and strong vertical presence make it ideal as a bedside lamp, accent lamp, or statement piece in an Art Deco, vintage, or eclectic interior.

Type: Table / accent lamp
Maker: Berger (patent era, attributed)
Era: Art Deco, circa 1930s
Materials: Brass-tone metal base, fiberglass shade
Color: Warm brass / gold tone with cream shade

Approximate Measurements:
Overall height: approx. 12–15"
Base width: approx. 4–5"
Shade diameter: approx. 6–7"

Measurements are approximate and provided for reference.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with visible age and wear consistent with its era. The fiberglass shade shows discoloration, spotting, and areas of paint residue. The base exhibits patina, surface wear, and minor marks from age and use. The lamp has not been tested, and electrical functionality is not guaranteed. No major structural damage observed. Please review photos closely for condition details.

Historical Note:
Berger lamps from the Art Deco period are admired for their bold geometric forms and innovative surface treatments. Produced during the 1930s, these lamps reflect the era’s embrace of modern design, machine-age aesthetics, and decorative craftsmanship. Examples retaining original or period-correct fiberglass shades are increasingly scarce.

Value Context:
Comparable Berger Art Deco table lamps typically sell in the $200–400 range, depending on condition, originality, and overall presentation.
