Executed in solid wood, the figure features expressive, faceted carving throughout the body, mane, and base, showcasing the skilled handwork typical of early to mid-20th-century folk art traditions. The sculptural composition conveys motion and strength, with thoughtful detailing in the musculature, flowing tail, and textured base. Unsigned and artisan-made, this piece reflects the charm and individuality of folk art carving, making it a striking decorative object for display on a mantel, shelf, or curated tabletop. Type: Hand-carved decorative sculpture Height: approx. 15" Measurements are approximate and provided for reference. Good vintage condition overall. Hand-carved wooden animal figures were popular folk art objects in the early to mid-20th century, often created by individual craftsmen rather than factories. Performing horse motifs symbolized strength, discipline, and spectacle, making them especially desirable decorative forms. Unsigned examples like this are valued for their craftsmanship, expressive character, and sculptural presence.
