Description :
Antique Red Wing Stoneware Beater Jar — Eggs, Cream & Salad Dressing This antique American stoneware beater jar is attributed to Red Wing Pottery and features the classic cylindrical form with bold cobalt-blue stenciled lettering reading “Red Wing Beater Jar – Eggs • Cream • Salad Dressing.” Designed for early 20th-century kitchen use, this utilitarian vessel was intended to hold hand mixers or beaters for preparing eggs, cream, and dressings. Finished in a warm cream glaze with blue banding and stencil decoration, this piece exemplifies Red Wing’s renowned craftsmanship and functional design. Today, original Red Wing beater jars are highly collectible, prized for their graphic typography, historical kitchen context, and strong display appeal. Red Wing Pottery produced beater jars as part of their early kitchen utility line, offering practical storage solutions for food preparation tools before the advent of electric mixers. Pieces with intact stenciling like this example are especially desirable, as stencil wear is common on surviving examples.
Comparable antique Red Wing stoneware beater jars typically sell in the $150–300 range, depending on stencil clarity, condition, and overall preservation.
