Some minor chips and losses to raised corner details. Back hardware remains present. Displays beautifully with desirable antique patina. Please review photos for complete condition details.
Decorative gilt frames of this style were popular from the late Victorian era through the early 20th century. Many were constructed from wood with molded composition (gesso) ornament applied to the corners and borders, allowing artisans to create highly detailed floral and rococo-inspired designs. These frames were commonly used for portraits, family photographs, and small oil paintings and remain sought after today for both display and restoration projects.
