Description :

Vintage Wonder Mare rocking horse featuring a molded horse body mounted on a distinctive spring-action metal frame. This classic mid-century children's ride-on toy showcases a painted tan horse with white mane and tail, dark saddle, wooden hand grips, and an industrial metal rocker base.

Manufactured by Allied Van Lines as indicated by the remaining Wonder Mare decal, these durable spring-mounted horses were popular during the 1950s–1970s and were designed to provide a realistic rocking motion. Today they are sought after as nostalgic collectibles, display pieces, and vintage toy room décor.

A wonderful example of American mid-century childhood memorabilia.

Measurements:

  • Length: Approx. 36 inches
  • Width: Approx. 18 inches
  • Height: Approx. 24 inches
  • Seat Height: Approx. 16 inches

Good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout. Paint loss, scuffs, scratches, and finish wear are present on the horse body and metal frame. Historical Note:
The Wonder Mare was a popular spring-mounted rocking horse produced during the mid-20th century. Designed as a safer alternative to traditional wooden rocking horses, its metal suspension frame created a smooth bouncing motion. These toys became common in American homes and playgrounds during the post-war baby boom era and remain highly collectible among vintage toy enthusiasts today.
