The compote displays the beloved Moon & Star pattern, a pressed glass design characterized by raised starbursts and oval panels that originated in the late 19th century and was later revived by American glass companies. This example, produced by L.E. Smith Glass Company, features a soft pink satin finish and a matching domed lid with finial atop a pedestal base, making it ideal as a candy dish or decorative centerpiece. The accompanying goblet is produced by Fostoria Glass Company in the Captiva Peach frosted pattern, recognizable by its gently spiraled bowl and distinctive shell-form stem. Together these pieces represent classic American decorative glass styles from the late 20th century.
