Description :
Vintage Art Deco Style Armchair with Fluted Wood Arms – Reupholstered Striking vintage Art Deco style armchair featuring bold fluted wooden arm panels and plush grey upholstery. The chair reflects the strong geometric lines and architectural styling associated with Art Deco furniture popular from the 1920s–1930s, where designers emphasized symmetry, vertical ribbing, and sculptural wood accents. The substantial wood arm columns with carved fluting create a dramatic visual frame around the chair while the upholstered seat and back provide comfortable support. This particular chair carries a wonderful piece of family history — it belonged to the seller’s grandfather, and the natural wear on the wooden armrests reflects decades of use from him sitting in the chair, adding authentic character and preserving a small piece of its story. The chair has been professionally reupholstered in a soft neutral grey/blue wool fabric, giving it a refreshed appearance while retaining the original vintage structure and design. Origin / Style: Norwegian family piece in the Art Deco tradition, likely mid-20th century production inspired by earlier 1920s–1930s design. Measurements: Approx. 32–33" H, 26–27" W, and 33–34" D (measurements taken from seat edge and back height as shown in photos). Design Features: Condition: Good vintage condition. Upholstery appears clean and well maintained from reupholstery. Wooden arm panels show visible age wear and patina, particularly on the armrest areas, consistent with decades of use and part of the chair’s authentic history. Structurally solid and comfortable. Historical / Value Note: Art Deco lounge chairs with architectural wood arm designs and fluted detailing are sought after for their sculptural appearance and craftsmanship. Similar Art Deco style lounge chairs often appear in vintage and design markets as statement accent seating pieces. Est. value is $1,000 to $2,000
