Description :
Vintage Regency-style bergère armchair with an arched woven cane back, warm mahogany-tone wood frame, gracefully curved arms, turned and carved front legs, and patterned tapestry upholstered seat. The form closely follows English Regency-style library bergère seating, with elegant proportions and traditional caning. Approx. Measurements: 35–39" H x 22–25" W x 22–25" D; seat height approx. 17–19". Condition: Good vintage condition with expected age-related wear, scratches, spotting and finish variation. Cane appears intact overall. Upholstered seat shows normal age and use. Please review photos for details. Historical Note: Regency-style library bergères are based on early 19th-century English seating, combining French bergère influence with the lighter caned construction fashionable during the English Regency period. Mahogany, curved arms, caned backs and turned legs are characteristic features. This chair appears to be a later vintage Regency-style interpretation rather than a period Regency original. Est. Value: 350-650
