Description :
Vintage Tuscan-style square planter featuring raised classical cherub relief scenes on all four sides. The sculptural panels depict putti in playful pastoral compositions, including figures with animals, framed by a rustic textured surface. Finished in a warm weathered stone or pale terracotta tone with a flared rim, shaped base and drainage hole. A substantial decorative planter with strong Italian neoclassical garden character. Approx. Measurements: 10–14" H x 14–18" W x 11–15" D. Condition: Good vintage condition with intentional or naturally developed weathered surface character, discoloration, scuffs and irregularities throughout. Interior shows soil and use residue. No obvious major structural cracks visible in the photographs. Drainage hole is present. Historical Note: Cherubs, or putti, have been recurring elements of Italian decorative arts since the Renaissance, later becoming especially popular in Baroque and neoclassical garden ornament. Tuscan-style terracotta and composition-stone planters revived these classical motifs extensively during the 20th century for European and American garden décor. Est. Value: 100-225
