Description :

Antique Arts and Crafts brass perpetual desk calendar attributed to Roycroft, featuring a hammered brass frame, stepped easel-style base, and interchangeable paper calendar cards for adjusting the month and dates. The reverse bears the distinctive Roycroft orb-and-cross maker’s mark. Several original or period calendar inserts are included.

Approx. Measurements: 3–4" H x 3–4" W x 2–3" D

Condition: Good antique condition with expected age-related patina, oxidation, scratches, surface wear, discoloration, and small edge irregularities to the brass. Paper calendar inserts show age, toning, wear, and losses. Unpolished and retaining an attractive aged surface.

Historical Note: Roycroft was founded by Elbert Hubbard in East Aurora, New York, during the American Arts and Crafts movement. Roycroft metalworkers produced hand-hammered copper and brass desk accessories and decorative objects prized for their craftsmanship and distinctive orb-and-cross mark. Perpetual desk calendars are particularly collectible examples of Roycroft functional metalwork from the early 20th century.
