Description :

Charming vintage Philippines souvenir folk-art bottle diorama, sometimes described as a bottle whimsey. A miniature tropical village scene has been painstakingly assembled inside a clear glass bottle, featuring two traditional thatched-roof structures, multiple palm trees, a small figure in a red-sailed boat and other hand-crafted landscape details.

The bottle rests horizontally on its original-looking handmade wooden display stand. The cork/stopper appears to retain a Philippines souvenir label, supporting its origin. This is a particularly detailed example compared with many simpler vintage ship-in-a-bottle souvenirs.

Approx. Measurements
Approx. 11–14 in. long including bottle
Approx. 4–6 in. tall on stand

Condition
Good vintage pre-owned condition with expected age and surface wear. Interior miniature elements appear remarkably intact from the photographs. Glass has light surface wear and the cork/label shows age. Wooden stand has expected vintage wear.

Historical Note
These intricate bottle dioramas were made in the Philippines as tourist and export folk art, particularly during the mid-to-late 20th century. Unlike traditional European ships-in-bottles, Philippine examples frequently depict native houses, palm trees, boats and tropical village scenes, creating miniature representations of island life. Comparable examples are sometimes marketed at very high asking prices—as shown by the 798 asking price in your comparable—but those figures should not be treated as typical realized resale values.

Est. Value
100–225
