Description :
Original 1985 framed "King Island Christmas" exhibition poster featuring artwork by acclaimed Alaskan artist Rie Muñoz (1921–2015). This collectible poster was produced to commemorate the release of King Island Christmas: A Picture Book, written by Jean Rogers and illustrated by Rie Muñoz, along with a book signing and original artwork exhibition held at the Rie Muñoz Ltd. Gallery on November 7, 1985. The featured artwork depicts villagers on King Island, Alaska, in Muñoz's signature style celebrating Alaska Native culture and village life. Similar posters were produced in approximately 24" × 18" format as gallery exhibition pieces and were generally issued as open (unlimited) editions. Professionally framed under glass in a black frame and ready to display. Very good vintage condition. The frame shows light cosmetic wear consistent with age, while the print retains strong color and presents beautifully. Back of frame shows typical wear from storage and display. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description. Rie Muñoz is widely regarded as one of Alaska's most celebrated artists, best known for her warm and expressive depictions of Alaska Native communities, rural life, and northern landscapes. This poster commemorates the publication of King Island Christmas and the accompanying gallery exhibition at Rie Muñoz Ltd. Gallery in 1985. Exhibition posters from this period are sought after by collectors of Alaskan art and Rie Muñoz memorabilia. $125–250Features
