Description :

Large accumulated collection of vintage and older worldwide postage stamps, organized in numerous small bags, glassine envelopes and packets. Includes a broad assortment of used and unused examples, commemoratives, definitives, airmail and international issues from multiple countries and periods. Visible material includes U.S. and foreign stamps with a wide variety of subjects, denominations, colors and postmarks. Some packets appear to have been individually sorted or labeled by the original collector. Offered as one collection and an excellent exploration lot for philatelists, resellers or collectors looking for potentially interesting individual finds. Contents have not been individually cataloged or authenticated.

Approx. Measurements: Individual stamps approx. 0.75–2 in.; packets and bags approx. 2–12 in.

Condition: Mixed collectible condition consistent with age and postal use. Expect mint and used stamps, cancellations, hinged or previously mounted examples, loose stamps, duplicates, creases, tears, toning, damaged examples and varying gum condition. Collection is unsearched and sold as photographed.

Historical Note: Worldwide stamp collecting became an enormously popular hobby during the late 19th and 20th centuries, with collectors commonly organizing duplicates and new acquisitions in glassines and country-specific packets like those represented here. Large unsorted accumulations remain popular because individual stamps, varieties, cancellations and overlooked issues can sometimes be discovered within them.

Est. Value: 75–200
