Description :
Collection of five antique/vintage porcelain half dolls and miniature lady figures, featuring hand-painted facial details, period hairstyles and colorful accents. Four are traditional hollow half-doll forms with sewing holes around the bases for attachment to fabric pin cushions, powder boxes or related decorative accessories. One smaller full-figure lady in a lavender dress retains a metal loop/hook and is marked “Made in Japan.” One half doll appears to retain a faint impressed or molded number at the base. Sold together as a charming mixed group. Approx. Measurements: 2–4 in. H each Condition: Good antique/vintage condition with age-related surface wear, paint loss, rubbing and minor discoloration. Some roughness or small losses may be present around bases and attachment holes. No extensive restoration observed from photographs. Please review photos closely. Historical Note: Porcelain half dolls became fashionable sewing and boudoir accessories during the early 20th century, particularly from the 1910s through 1930s. Produced extensively in Germany and Japan, the porcelain torsos were sewn onto elaborate fabric skirts that served as pin cushions, powder-puff covers, whisk brooms and other decorative household objects. Japanese examples became especially prevalent in the export market between the World Wars. Est. Value: 50–100
