Description :

Beautiful vintage set of three botanical floral prints featuring richly detailed bouquets of roses, poppies, zinnias, cornflowers and other garden flowers in vivid red, pink, yellow and blue tones. The largest print depicts a lush arrangement in a blue footed bowl against a softly shaded neutral background, while the two companion prints feature traditional botanical bouquet studies on lighter grounds. The large print is signed E. Wallis and bears a © M & B, Inc., N.Y. mark at the lower corner. Decorative vintage floral artwork with strong cottage, English garden, grandmillennial and traditional décor appeal. Sold together as the three-piece grouping shown.

Approx Measurements Range: Approximately 10-18 in wide x 14-24 in high each

Condition: Fair to good vintage condition. The large E. Wallis print shows noticeable age toning, discoloration, edge and corner wear, creasing and surface wear, particularly along the lower edge and corners. Companion prints appear cleaner with lighter age-related toning and handling wear. Backs are unprinted/blank as photographed. Unframed. Please review photos for exact condition.

Historical Note: Botanical flower prints became especially popular as affordable decorative wall art during the mid-20th century, drawing heavily on the tradition of 18th- and 19th-century botanical illustration and chromolithography. The signed E. Wallis example carries a M & B, Inc., New York copyright mark and combines highly saturated garden flowers with the romantic decorative style favored for traditional interiors. Groups of coordinating vintage botanical prints are particularly attractive for gallery-wall and cottage-style decorating.
