Description :

Vintage Italian Pulegoso Glass Vases Pair

This vintage Italian glass lot features a pair of hand-blown Pulegoso glass vases distinguished by their thick walls, controlled bubbles, and applied white glass oval inclusions. Together, the two vases create a cohesive yet dynamic display that highlights classic Murano-style craftsmanship with a modern sculptural presence.

The larger vase has a softly tapered oval form with substantial weight and depth, showcasing dense Pulegoso bubbles throughout the clear glass body. White glass oval appliqués are embedded into the surface, creating contrast and dimensional interest that shifts with light. The smaller vase echoes the same design language in a scaled-down form, making the pair visually balanced when displayed together.

Pulegoso glass became popular in mid-20th-century Italian studios as a technique emphasizing texture, air, and mass rather than surface decoration. While often associated with Murano production, similar works were created across Italian glasshouses, especially during the 1950s–1970s, when organic modernism dominated interior design.

Together, these vases function as sculptural objects even when empty and are well suited for modern, post-modern, or collected interiors.

Dimensions:
Larger vase: Approx. 11.5" H x 7" W x 5" D
Smaller vase: Approx. 7.5" H x 4" W x 4" D

Condition:
Good vintage condition overall. Both vases show light surface wear consistent with age and hand-blown production, including small bubbles and natural irregularities inherent to Pulegoso glass. No cracks, chips, or repairs observed. Please review photos for full condition details.

Notes:
• Pulegoso glass is characterized by intentionally trapped air bubbles, giving each piece a unique texture and weight
• White glass inclusions are often associated with higher-quality mid-century Italian studio production
• Pairs of Pulegoso vessels are increasingly sought after for their sculptural versatility and timeless design

Estimated Value:
$180–$300 as a decorative pair
