Description :

Vintage Novelty Ceramic and Glass Decorative Containers — Taxi Bank, M&M’s Cookie Jar, and Light Bulb Bottle

Curated grouping of three vintage novelty containers featuring iconic late-20th-century pop culture and design forms. The lot includes a ceramic New York City taxi coin bank, a character-driven M&M’s cookie jar, and a clear glass light-bulb-shaped bottle with screw-top closure. Together, the pieces offer a playful mix of function, nostalgia, and display appeal.

The yellow ceramic taxi bank is modeled after a classic New York City cab and features hand-applied detailing with “New York Taxi” lettering, white window accents, and black bumper and wheel detailing. The form is both whimsical and graphic, making it a standout shelf or desk accent.

The M&M’s cookie jar depicts the iconic candy characters carrying a sack topped with multicolored M&M’s, rendered in glossy ceramic with expressive sculptural detailing. The jar combines strong visual presence with practical storage and reflects the collectible novelty market of the early 2000s.

Completing the group is a clear glass bottle molded in the shape of a traditional incandescent light bulb, fitted with a metal screw-top lid. This piece functions as both a decorative object and a novelty storage container, commonly used for candies or small items.

• M&M’s character ceramic cookie jar
• Light bulb–shaped clear glass bottle with screw-top lid

Historical Note:
Novelty ceramic banks and branded character jars gained popularity in the late 20th century as collectible décor items tied to pop culture, tourism, and advertising. Comparable individual pieces typically sell in the following ranges:
• Taxi coin banks: $30–60
• M&M’s cookie jars: $80–120
