Description :
Vintage Brown Marbled Bakelite Ice Bucket with Chrome Handle, Art Deco Mid Century Barware, 1940s Cocktail Ice Pail Vintage marbled brown Bakelite ice bucket dating to the mid-20th century, featuring a rich tortoiseshell-style swirl pattern and a classic chrome swing handle with riveted mounts. This piece exemplifies Art Deco to early Mid-Century barware design, prized for its sculptural form, warm coloration, and iconic Bakelite material. The cylindrical body tapers subtly toward the base, creating an elegant silhouette well suited for cocktail service, bar carts, or display. The Bakelite exterior displays deep chocolate and amber marbling, while the interior remains smooth and clean, suitable for ice or liner use. The metal handle adds contrast and function, allowing for easy carrying and enhancing the overall period aesthetic. Pieces like this were commonly produced in the 1930s–1940s and are now sought after for both functional use and decorative appeal. This example works beautifully as an ice bucket, bar accessory, wine or bottle cooler, or statement object in a Mid-Century, Art Deco, or vintage bar setting. Dimensions: Approximately 10.5" H x 8.5" W x 8.5" D Condition: Good vintage condition with light surface wear and small scuffs/scratches consistent with age and use. Marbling remains vibrant and glossy. Metal handle shows minor oxidation and patina, adding character. No cracks or structural damage observed. Please review photos for full condition details. Notes: Bakelite barware has become increasingly collectible due to its durability, unique coloration, and association with early modern design. Marbled examples with intact handles are especially desirable and display well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
