Description :

Original mid-century still life oil painting by the artist Luciel, featuring a richly textured tabletop composition with fruit, glassware, and ceramic vessels rendered in expressive palette-knife strokes. The painting displays vibrant color, heavy impasto, and strong movement typical of mid-20th-century European-influenced still life work. Signed lower right and presented in a carved wood frame with linen liner and gilt inner trim.

This work is accompanied by original documentation, including a gallery sales slip dated January 9, 1969, from Martin Gallery and Imports, Villa Italia Shopping Center, and the original titled envelope marked “Fruehstueck (Breakfast)” numbered 48/100. The paperwork confirms original purchase price and dimensions, providing excellent provenance and collectibility. A rare opportunity to acquire a documented, period example with intact historical records.

Dimensions: Painting approx. 12" x 16"; framed approx. 18" x 22" (measurements taken from artwork and original receipt)

Condition: Good vintage condition. Painting surface is stable with no visible paint loss; expected age-appropriate craquelure and texture consistent with original impasto technique. Frame shows light wear, minor scuffs, and finish variation consistent with age. Documentation shows toning and light edge wear from storage.

Notes: Original paperwork significantly enhances value and desirability. Documented mid-century works with verifiable gallery provenance are increasingly scarce. Ideal for collectors of mid-century modern, European still life, or documented vintage fine art.

Estimated Value: $800–$1,400
