Description :
Antique Glass Insulators & Bottle Lot, Aqua Blue & Milk Glass This mixed antique and vintage lot features a curated selection of early utility glass, electrical ceramics, and decorative objects spanning the late 19th to early 20th centuries. Together, these pieces reflect everyday industrial, domestic, and commercial life, with strong visual interest and collectible appeal. The lot includes an antique green glass Cochran & Co. Belfast ginger ale bottle, identifiable by its embossed lettering and classic torpedo-style form. Also included are additional early glass bottles, featuring thick hand-blown construction and subtle color variation typical of turn-of-the-century soda and utility glass. A group of vintage glass insulators in aqua and teal hues is present, alongside white ceramic electrical insulators, each showing age-appropriate wear and patina. Completing the grouping is a figural pressed-glass bottle, notable for its sculptural form and decorative presence. This is a visually cohesive lot well suited for collectors, decorators, or display use, offering a blend of industrial history and sculptural character. Dimensions: Vary by piece; bottles approx. 8"–11" H, insulators approx. 3"–5" H Historical Notes:
Condition: Overall good antique and vintage condition with surface wear, patina, internal bubbles, and light staining consistent with age and use. No major cracks noted. Please review photos for full condition details.
Estimated Lot Value: $250–$450
• Cochran & Co. Belfast bottle: Torpedo-shaped bottles were designed to rest on their side to keep corks wet, preserving carbonation—an early solution before modern caps.
• Early soda bottles: Many 19th-century bottles were hand-blown, leaving air bubbles and slight asymmetry that collectors value today.
• Glass insulators: Originally used on telegraph and early electrical lines; their colors were often accidental, caused by mineral content in the glass.
• Ceramic insulators: Porcelain and ceramic were favored for their durability and resistance to weather long before plastics became standard.
• Figural glass bottle: Decorative bottles often doubled as advertising tools, making them both functional and visually engaging.
